Running and plyometrics on the beach

Each colour marks a different distance our players need to run.

Once per week we have fitness sessions on the beach, thus taking advantage of our incredible location, just a 5-minute walk from Playa Castelldefels.

Last Friday the first part of the training session was dedicated to running in 5 rounds of 5 different distances. After each run, we measured the pulse and then proceeded to the next distance. 

This type of anaerobic exercise builds our players’ explosivity, speed and endurance. 

The running session was followed by a short series of plyometric exercises on the stairs by the beach.

All these exercises are specific for on-court movement and serve to enhance players’ tennis performance.
