BTA Life on the Tour

Match play is the key element of our coaching programme. However, it is not so much the results that we pay attention to, even though they are not an aspect to ignore completely, but, most of all, we treat tournament matches as a great coaching tool.
Being competitive by nature, players associate matches with excitement which practice matches & training sessions rarely carry with themselves to this extent. This emotion which they bring to the competition allows us to gauge the stability and consistency of their technique, the level of their stamina as well as the speed and character of their tactical decision making.
The heat of the competition exposes players’ true habits. It reveals what has become a stable part of their on-court action and what needs further work or adjustment.
Catalonia gives us numerous opportunites to participate in high-level matches with players from around the world to compete against as it is a place with some of the best tennis academies in the world. Every player at our academy has their own tournament schedule & takes part in tournaments, be it local or abroad.
