Starting the season with goal-setting

The new academic year has just begun and, as usual, we start it with the topic of goal-setting preceded by players’ self-evaluation.

It is important for us that our players develop the habit of setting regular short-term goals, which will add meaning to their everyday activities as a crucial build-up for their long-term objectives. Setting daily, weekly and monthly goals will help them realise that the achievement of any type of goal both in tennis and life is a process.

What’s key is that goal-setting contributes to developing players’ self-awareness through their constant self-monitoring. In addition, it leads to their personal growth as players consistently work towards overcoming weaknesses and enhancing their strengths.

Our team of sports psychologists will teach our players a set of goal-setting techniques, such as setting of SMART goals, SWOT and visualisation.

Wishing everyone a satisfying new academic year with lots of goals accomplished on the way!
