May Coaching Course: Recap

Last weekend (27-29 May) we ran the first edition of this year’s coaching course. We had the pleasure to welcome for the course eight coaches from all around the world: Michal from the Czech Republic, João Felipe from Brazil, Tameka from Trinidad, Oded from Israel, Nicolas from Belgium, Cristian from Spain, Jotpal and Manpreet from India.

The major idea behind our courses is build cooperation and develop future projects between participants. With great pleasure we can say that we have made new tennis friendships and our tennis family has grown. Michal, one of the course participants, will stay with us until the end of September to complete his internship related with the studies of sports psychology.

Our course is about exchanging ideas and sharing coaching experiences. Our coaching team delivered workshops on selected topics falling within the broad areas of tennis, fitness and psychology.

The owner of our academy Raphael Maurer and our tennis director Luis Scarda focused on the themes of coaching tennis technique as well as aspects of strategies and tactics. Our fitness director Sergi Valldaura prepared workshops on coordination and planning in fitness training. Our sports psychologist Oriol Mercade dealt with the issues of motivation, values, emotional intelligence, mindset and family management. These workshops aim to indicate important areas from our perspective and our coaching experience. The coaches may further develop them in their own coaching practice.

We hope that the participants of the May course found it practical, useful and thought provoking.

Our next coaching course will take place in October. The registration for the course is open.

Our whole team is already looking forward to it!
