BTA Preseason: Part One

Currently, we are about to start the third week of our preseason. Overall, it will last five weeks. Its objective is for our players to arrive at the optimal point for the start of the competition.

Throughout the whole preseason our emphasis will be on strength training, resistance training and specific work on the court.

During the first few weeks the focus has been on volume tasks in both strength and endurance. We worked in the gym, our main goals set on improving strength and gaining muscle mass by doing exercises with maximum load and intensity.

Resistance work had begun with volumes and then we introduced aerobic, anaerobic, and mixed tasks, combining outdoor and indoor training.

The workload has been paced progressively, starting with a lot of volume, low intensity and little rest, gradually turning it around and ending with short duration work, high intensity and a lot of recovery, looking for work of extreme quality.

Last but not least, we will work on the court. This training, unlike the previous ones, has its least load in the preseason and it is left for the final part of it.
